The Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation Sisterhood will sponsor a Fashion Show and Luncheon on March 27, at 10:30 a.m., at the Oakwood Country Club in Sun Lakes. This is their annual charity event that will feature fabulous gift baskets, cash raffles, and delicious bake sale goodies. Fashions will be provided by Calle Rose Boutique Clothing and Accessories. There will be shopping time before and after the sit-down luncheon and fashion show. All profits from the event will be donated to local charities in Maricopa County. At the next meeting on Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Chapel House, the Sisterhood members will learn how to braid and bake traditional challah bread. Wende Levy will prepare the dough and distribute the recipe and directions. Sixteen women will bring a cookie sheet and kitchen towel to the meeting and will braid the dough. Then they will take the dough home to bake the challah. Everyone will take home the recipe.

There will be a special meeting on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel House. Maggie Anton, an award-winning author of historical fiction, will discuss her book series, Rashi’s Daughters, as well as other fiction and non-fiction books she has written. Everyone is welcome to attend.
