The Sun Lakes Women’s Association (SLWA), a social and philanthropic organization serving the greater Sun Lakes community, presented a check for $1000 to The Crystal Card Project. The money will be used to buy supplies and materials to make the Crystal Cards. Donations like these allow The Crystal Card Project to meet its objective of donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their cards to My Sister’s Place, a crisis center for domestic violence victims and their children.

Crystal Cards will be on sale in December at two Sun Lakes locations:

* Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Women’s Coffee beginning at 10:30 a.m. in Cottonwood’s San Tan Ballroom

* Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Bradford Room in the Oakwood clubhouse

We will have a wonderful assortment of Christmas, birthday, anniversary, get well, and other humorous and serious cards for all occasions. All cards are just $1 each. Stop by to find just the right cards for family and friends.

This holiday season, The Crystal Card Project will once again be collecting gifts and gift cards for the families living at My Sister’s Place. Anyone interested in donating can find gift ideas on our website by choosing “Holiday Wishes for My Sister’s Place” under the Donate tab at www.thecrystalcardproject.org. Gifts can be dropped off in the big box in front of the Tonkinsons’ home at 9502 E. Sundune Drive (Oakwood) between Dec. 1 and 15.

You can learn more about The Crystal Card Project and My Sister’s Place on the website, as well as find announcements of future sales.
