This year the annual Thanks4Giving award went to Sun Lakes Women’s Association which was presented to President Sharon Horton and the members of the board by Sun Lakes Community Church. What an honor! Last year was the first year for giving this award and it went to the Sun Lakes Fire Department. We thank the church for recognizing our work and effort in making all of the Sun Lakes area a better place to live in.
As the tunes of White Christmas and Jingle Bells slowly fade out of our minds (we still face taking down some decorations and trying not to remember all of those calories we tried to justify eating), the thought that we have to get back to work becomes a reality and the need to take up where we left off – working towards the next bazaar, is a priority. If you have any household items in good condition that you would like to donate please call 480-895-9270, ext. 220. We do pick up and deliver if you would care to make any purchases of these things.
Remember, all money (every penny) goes towards helping Sun Lakes Country Club, Cottonwood, Palo Verde and Ironwood/Iron Oaks with needs they might have which will improve the area. In 2014 requests were made from the different phases; the Fire Department, Neighbors Who Care; money was given for the Veteran’s Memorial and many other projects. This is a year round effort. We do have a need for storage space. This would help us out a lot. If you have any garage or shed space to donate just call the above number and you will be put in touch with someone who will help you.
Any lady living in the Sun Lakes Area is welcome to join us on Mondays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. The meeting is held in the Arts and Crafts Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club Clubhouse. There are a lot of things you can do. We hope to see you soon.
