Nebraska

Tom Osborne to speak at dinner

Gary Vacin

Nebraskans and former Nebraskans are urged to mark their calendar for Saturday, February 28, 2015 when Tom Osborne, one of the most successful coaches in college football history, will be guest speaker at the annual Nebraska State Dinner. The event will be held at the Oakwood Country Club.

Osborne was head coach at Nebraska for 25 years (1973-1997). He led Nebraska to National Championships in 2004, 2005 and 2007. He also served as Nebraska Athletic Director and was elected to three terms as a U.S. representative from the Nebraska Third Congressional District. He also was selected to serve on the 2014 NCAA Championship football selection committee. Through their foundation, Osborne and his wife have established “Teammates,” a student mentoring and counseling program now active in several states.

The event will be limited to 350 persons. Invitations will be mailed later in November.
