Those crafty Sun Lakers are at it again. The Sun Lakes Arts and Crafts Association annual Spring Show will be held on Saturday, March 21, with over 60 vendors showcasing their unique handmade crafts and artwork. The show will take place at the Oakwood Country Club (24218 S. Oakwood Blvd.) from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Craft shows are a great place to find unique gifts while at the same time supporting local artists and purchasing American-make items.
To participate as a vendor in our annual shows, you MUST be a member of the Association. No outside vendors are permitted and no commercial products are allowed. Members must personally handcraft all items sold at the craft shows. Application forms for the shows are available on our website (slaca.net) as a pdf file. Sign-up for the annual shows occurs at the general meetings in January and October. Membership in the Association runs from January to January, and membership dues are $10/year.
Good news, crafters, the Association is working with Sun Lakes Phase 1 to bring back the display case in the lobby of the clubhouse. SLACA has received a grant that will be used to help pay for the new display case. Members will be able to display their crafts again. Watch for the new display case later this year. Bobbi L. and Nita P. will be coordinating the new display case. Check the website for more information.
The Holiday Show will be held at Sun Lakes Phase 1 on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020. Sign-up for the show will be at the Oct. 12, 2020, meeting.
Visit the Association’s website at slaca.net for more club information, including show and meeting dates.
