Sun Lakes Chorale Annual Spring Concert March 16

Yvonne Orlich

It hardly seems possible, but here we are again preparing for the annual Spring Concert. The Chorale is up and running, full steam ahead, toward the presentation of the Spring Concert on Thursday, March 16. We are more than pleased that, for this Spring Concert, we have several new singers in our group, bringing our numbers to 70, more or less. We are always open to interested singers joining our ranks. Remember that in the fall if you are an interested party.

This spring’s concert promises to be another crowd-pleaser. Our director Cris Temple-Evans has pulled together a wide range of musical numbers—some we have done in the past and some that are brand new to most of us. Under the tutelage of Cris, with her vast musical background (and a whole lot of patience), we are working weekly to perfect all the music. Nothing but the best for our Sun Lakes audiences! It can be intense, but in the end, it is always fun. Our goal is always to give you an evening of entertainment that will move you, touch you, bring back some favorite music memories, and send you home with some fond memories of an evening well spent.

This concert will feature everything from a lively, finger-snapping Louis Prima number, to a moving Gaelic number, to a recognizable number from the great Sweeney Todd musical. There will be laughs, heart-felt good wishes, and swinging and singing to the lively beats. We really hope you will attend.

Tickets are still at the low price of $10 and can be purchased from any Chorale member, at the entrance to the concert, or at the Ticket Tuesday sales in front of Ace Hardware on Riggs Road on the following dates:

Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon

Tuesday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to noon

Tuesday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to noon

You can also call 480-895-7766 and speak to a member about how to get tickets.

The concert will again be in the sanctuary of Sun Lakes United Methodist Church on Riggs Road, just east of Sun Lakes Boulevard. The doors open at 6:30 a.m., and the program will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Bring your friends and family and enjoy the fruits of our labors. You will leave feeling uplifted and looking forward to the next concert in December.

See you soon!
