Message from the President
Anne Montgomery
Dear Homeowners,
As we say “goodbye” to 2019, we look back on what Cottonwood Palo Verde accomplished during the last 12 months. The completion ofyhe construction and opening of the Fitness Activity Center took the spotlight. There were many other important, smaller projects that were completed or put into the pipeline: the leveling of the PV Pro Shop patio and adding pavers, the Trackman 4 Golf training system, installing a state-of-the art entry system for the San Tan Gate and new Fitness Center, replacement of the Main IT and Terminal Servers and upgrading the operating systems on 50 computers, replacing the grass at the Michigan Gate with an eco-friendly xeriscape, all pool pumps changed out to variable speed pumps for greater efficiency and life span, a solar-powered street light added to the intersection of Alma School Road and San Tan Blvd., Water Volleyball added to our recreation activities, and quite a number of other housekeeping and maintenance items. What is in the pipeline for 2020? As of this writing, the design and construction documents are in progress for the Palo Verde restaurant restroom remodel, design work is in progress for the Cottonwood Bar and Grill makeover, and the design and engineering are underway for the addition of three pickleball courts. 2020 should prove to be a very productive year and one that sees enhanced amenities benefiting all of our homeowners.
The Fitness Activity Center Grand Opening and building dedication took place on Saturday, Dec. 7. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, quite a crowd of enthusiastic homeowners spent time exploring the spaces, examining the breadth and depth of the state-of-the-art equipment, and enjoying the champagne and hors d’oeuvres that were served. Classes begin this month, so stop by the FAC and get signed up. SLCC and IronOaks residents may enroll for any of the fee-based group classes on a space-available basis.
Please meet Lorelei Guran, our CWPV December Employee of the Month. Lorelei has been with the Association for three years, employed as a server. She can be found at the Palo Verde restaurant, always with a smile, a nice hello, and a little chat regarding the daily specials and her suggestions. Lorelei provides a high level of service to the homeowners in our community. She is the embodiment of the phrase “teamwork” and helps whenever or wherever anyone needs a hand. Lorelei has a heart of gold and is a tremendous asset to the community, and well deserving of the honor. Thank you, Lorelei, and congratulations!
We wish you all a healthy, happy, and a splendid New Year! @
