Message from the President
Leonard Horst
Here we are at the start of the busy holiday season! November is a special month that includes two of our nation’s most loved and celebrated holidays. We wish you and your families safe travels and much joy as you get together to remember and to say thanks.
Nov. 11 is Veterans Day here in the United States. This day, which was originally known as Armistice Day, is a federal holiday observed annually to honor our military veterans of all branches of the United States Armed Forces. We say thank you for your service, for your sacrifice, and for your love of country, that allows all of us to enjoy the freedoms and blessings of living in this amazing country! It is a day that is celebrated around the world and is known as Remembrance Day throughout the British Commonwealth. There are several events planned in the community commemorating the day, and I encourage each one of you to seek out a veteran and say a personal thank you.
On Nov. 24 we celebrate Thanksgiving Day. This traditional national holiday is a time when we gather with friends and family and take time to break bread together and to say thank you for all we have been blessed with during the year. It is a time of reflection and a time of hope. I wish each of you a day filled with happiness and thankfulness.
