Happenings at the Sun Lakes Country Club Library
Sharon Lavender
Yeah! Summer is officially over. We apologize for any additional days of over 100 degrees. A dedicated group of volunteer librarians keeps our library functioning while many of us escape from the heat. A librarian is available 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday all year long.
A number of librarians leave Sun Lakes over the summer and, fortunately for us, our other librarians step up to take their place. Those of us who love libraries enjoy visiting them in other areas. We quickly realize how vital a library is to a community. In smaller communities the library is often an all-volunteer effort, just like right here at Sun Lakes Country Club. We are always looking for new ideas on how to make your visit to our library enjoyable.
In this digital age, libraries are still flourishing. Think of it as the best combination of choice and convenience. Reading nourishes the soul and another world is out there for you to explore.
Welcome back to all returning residents. Stop by soon.
The Wolfman returns
Barbara Schwartz
Once again, The Wolfman, aka Tom Wolfe, returns to the Arizona Room, Phase One (Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 Sun Lakes Boulevard, Sun Lakes, Arizona) for a wonderful afternoon of song and memories of days past. Wolfman sings all sorts of songs from the 50s and 60s. Dancing will be available for those to dance the stroll, jitterbug and even line dance!
This fun event will be held on January 24, 2016.
Further information will be coming in the next edition of this publication and tickets will be on sale shortly at the Arizona Room and Ace Hardware on Riggs Road. Look for the signs that will soon line Riggs Road and the entrances to most Sun Lakes entrances.
