Message from the President
Anne Montgomery
Dear Homeowners,
Our CWPV Board election is coming right up, and there will be a “Meet the Candidates” question and answer information session held in the San Tan Ballroom Tuesday, March 3, at 6:30 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity for homeowners to get to know something about those running for board positions.
The annual Cottonwood Palo Verde Homeowners meeting will be held Wednesday, March 25, at 4 p.m. in the San Tan Ballroom. This is our “State of the Union” presentation and one not to be missed. Mark your calendars for this important annual meeting and come greet your new Board of Directors. We hope to see you there!
Don’t miss the 12th Annual Art at the Lakes event Saturday, March 7, benefitting the Arizona Fire & Medical Charities. This fund provides assistance to our community after a fire or an accident. Many local artists will be set up around Cottonwood’s North Lake (across from the tennis courts) displaying and selling their work. Mediums include watercolor, acrylics, oil, pastels, pen and ink, as well as handmade jewelry, gourd work, woodwork, wire sculpture, and more. Sponsor-donated raffle items include wine gift baskets, men’s and women’s golf, art classes and supplies, to name a few. All proceeds from the raffle and artists’ fees benefit the “Relief Fund.” The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., so come early and treat yourself or home to a new piece of art. Stay for lunch, as the firefighters will be grilling and selling hamburgers and hot dogs. This is always an interesting and fun benefit event in a beautiful setting, complete with live music.
Please meet Mike Page, our CWPV February Employee of the Month. Mike has been working for the HOA since Jan. 19, 2019, in the Facilities Department as a Maintenance Technician Painter. Mike has a degree in the History of Art and Illustration and is understandably very knowledgeable on paint procedures. His military background has taught him both discipline and the importance of meeting deadlines. During his employment here, he has excelled. Mike is a self-starter, pinpointing maintenance issues and taking care of them immediately; he needs little or no supervision. Mike is also a talented artist. He painted a mural at the new Fitness Activity Center, which has been complimented by many. Congratulations, Mike, and thank you for helping to keep our community ship-shape!
Happy Spring, everyone!
