The next meeting of the Sun Lakes Garden Club (SLGC) will be held at the Chapel Center, 9240 N. Sun Lakes Blvd., across from the Sun Lakes Country Club on Monday, November 3 at 9:30 am. The program will be “Composting” presented by a Master Gardner, still to be determined.

The October 1 presentation was “House Plants” presented by Kelly Depetro, Master Gardener and member of the Central Arizona Cactus and Succulent Society. She spoke about growing houseplants in Arizona. She presented information on lighting, soil and watering. She bought samples of plants to grow here, as well as answered questions from the audience. In addition, she did a demonstration of how to plant a dish garden.

The Sun Lakes Garden Club meets on the first Monday of each month at the Sun Lakes Chapel Center. Anyone interested in how and what to grow in this area is invited to attend as a guest. If you want more information, or are interested in becoming a member of the Sun Lakes Garden Club, contact the club President Diane Beatty 895-3687 or Vice President Leslie Schleicher 816-797-1133; or visit our website at  www.sunlakesgardenclub.com.
