Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation March Update

Joyce Spartonos

On Friday, March 12, Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation (SLJC) will be holding its monthly service at 7 p.m. in the Chapel in Sun Lakes Phase 1. SLJC sincerely hopes that you’ll attend in person, where social distancing and masks will be required. But if some of you still feel uneasy in this regard, you’ll be able to view the service on YouTube.

Along with services, SLJC has scheduled a two-part seminar as part of its Adult Education Program. The seminar entitled “The Separation of Church and State … What Happened?” will be led by our own Rabbi Irwin Wiener and Reverend Marvin Arnpriester, Senior Pastor of the Sun Lakes United Methodist Church. The sessions will be held on subsequent Tuesdays, March 8 and March 15, at the Chapel Center from 1 to 2:30 p.m. These are in-person events, and masks will be required. This sounds like a not-to-be-missed program and is, of course, open to the entire community!

Looking ahead to April, SLJC will once again be hosting its annual Seder dinner on April 16 at the Palo Verde Country Club. More about this next month. But in the meantime, any additional info you’d like can be obtained by contacting Wendy at 480-584-5909.

That’s it for now. Until next month, Shabbot Shalom!
