The Sun Lakes Lady Niners kicked off the new season with a get-together at Mulligans on Saturday, Oct. 23, with Mimosas, and I think there was one Bloody Mary. We welcomed back returning member Lynn Turnquist who brought in her new neighbor Cheryl Kern. We would also like to extend a warm welcome to two other new members, Wanda Chihak and Annette Carrington.
Nov. 2 was our first day of league play, and we will be “cart path only” through the month of November. Our regular play schedule is every Tuesday at 9 a.m., and everyone is encouraged to be there at least 20 minutes early. It was a beautiful day for golf.
In the meantime, a little girl was at her first golf lesson when she asked an interesting question. She asked her instructor, “When you hit the ball in that little hole, is the word spelled P-U-T or P-U-T-T?” The instructor replied, “P-U-T-T is correct. P-U-T means to place a thing where you want it. P-U-T-T means merely a futile attempt to do the same thing.”
The Sun Lakes Lady Niners are always looking for new members. Please contact President Irene Anderson at 612-669-2666 if you would like to join or to talk about joining. The new membership form is available in the Sun Lakes Pro Shop. The Sun Lakes Lady Niners provide a very supportive and welcoming environment. Please consider coming out and hitting a ball and having a ball with them.
