Sun Lakes Lions Club – April 2026

Welcome to Our Club

Chris Linder

We had a full house at our monthly meeting on March 5. Lion Leo also showed up. The Sun Lakes Lion Club is pleased to welcome two new members. John and Judy Herrmann were inducted as members. John and Judy were sponsored by Lion Ron Gillet. Please extend your congratulations to our new members, and consider joining the largest service organization in the world.

If you would like to learn more about the Sun Lakes Lions Club and see firsthand how the club operates, you are welcome to attend a monthly meeting. The Sun Lakes Lions Club gathers on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, 9248 E. Riggs Road, Chandler. Whether you are simply curious or considering membership, these meetings offer a great opportunity to meet current members, observe club activities, and get a genuine sense of what being a Lion is all about. Feel free to stop by and discover how you can be a part of this dedicated group making a difference in the community.

Lions Club is Seeking Support

Chris Linder

Sun Lakes (evening) Lions Club is seeking the support of homeowners in Sun Lakes. In every corner of Arizona, Lions Clubs are actively embedded in community engagement. All funds (after expenses) raised from the public by Arizona Lions are dedicated to charitable outreach, and we actively collaborate with similar service-oriented agencies, foundations, and corporations. Sun Lakes (evening) Lions Club is committed to the Lions’ motto, “We Serve.”

A few of the local charities and other charities our club supports are Neighbors Who Care, Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse, Hope Women’s Center (Coolidge), John Volken Men’s Academy (Chandler), AZCEND (food bank), John Herdt High School Scholarship (CUSD), Arizona Adaptive Waters Sports (for disabled individuals), Arizona Veterans StandDown, HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership), and Veterans Administration Volunteer Services.

Sun Lakes (evening) Lions Club provides not only the American flag, but also flags representing the various branches of the Armed Forces. Your annual subscription and participation ensures that a flag will be posted in front of your home for seven holidays: Presidents’ Day, Flag Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, 9/11 (Patriots Day), and Veterans Day.

Please call 480-352-8076 if you are interested in participating in the Fly the Flag™ program.

Breakfast Lions Donate to Neighbors Who Care

The long partnership between the Sun Lakes Breakfast Lions Club (SLBLC) and the fantastic Sun Lakes-based Neighbors Who Care (NWC) continues with SLBLC’s most recent donation to NWC’s new leadership team. Breakfast Lions President Jack Dreyer commented, “Our club donates to many worthwhile organizations, but we have a special relationship with Neighbors Who Care.”
