Sun Lakes Breakfast Lions Assist East Valley Marine Corps Golf Tournament

Putting the flags out this year were SLBLC Vice President David Coffman and past President Bob Glantz.

The Sun Lakes Breakfast Lions Club (SLBLC) was more than happy to again assist the East Valley Marine Corps in setting the stage for their annual tourney. The Sun Lakes Breakfast Lions are the only Lions club that can provide your branch of service where you served or are proud to support as part of “showing your colors” throughout the Sun Lakes community. If you’re interested in flying the flag on holidays throughout the year, contact the SLBLC at 480-242-4356.

The Sun Lakes Breakfast Lions donated to the Assistance League of the East Valley, one of their favorite charities. Their donation will go to their homeless teen program, better known as YOTO (Youth On Their Own), in Chandler and Gilbert. The Assistance League also operates Operation School Bell for those students, which assists the students with gift cards, gas cards, food cards, clothing, and snacks. Graduating seniors will also receive a food gift card.

Easter Bunny Comes to Sun Lakes

Christine Linder

Boy, the Easter Bunny was determined to have an Easter Egg Hunt. However, Sun Lakes (evening) Lions Club was up to the Easter Bunny’s challenge to deliver 1,500 Easter eggs to children of residents here in Sun Lakes.

The hunt started at 9 a.m. for the 0-3 age group, at 9:15 a.m. it was the 4-6 age group, and 9:30 a.m. was the 6-12 age group. Wow, the number of children hunting for those eggs was a joy to behold!

Sun Lakes (evening) Lions Club thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this event.
