The Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse was recognized by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office as the East Patrol Posse Group of the Year for 2022. The Posse, formed in 1987, was recognized for its involvement in the Law Enforcement and First Responder Open House, American Red Cross Blood Drives (five during 2022), Medical Equipment Loaner Program, Community Document Shred and DES Drug Take-Back events (two in 2022), Community Outreach events, and Supporting District Patrols.

Three members of the Sun Lakes Posse were also individually recognized for the significant number of hours they volunteered on Patrol: Commander Craig Lloyd, Posseman Ken Hinatsu, and Posseman Ramon Rubio.

These accomplishments were made possible by the entire volunteer Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse and our volunteer Medical Group staff. It takes a dedicated team to make this happen, along with the financial support and involvement of the Sun Lakes community.
