Sun Lakes Republican Club November 9 Meeting

The Sun Lakes Republican Club will feature “The Principles We Hold Dear” with guest speakers Cindy Biggs and Keith DeGreen at its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club, at 25601 S. Sun Lakes Blvd., in Sun Lakes. The public is invited! Please invite your neighbors and friends! Our mission is “education for an informed electorate.”

Most American citizens are familiar with “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere” and the historic role that Paul Revere played in our nation’s founding. But how many of you learned about the other important midnight ride by a famous delegate from Delaware that made our independence possible? Cindy Biggs, civics instructor and wife of our U.S. Congressman Andy Biggs, will delight us with a living history portrayal of this famous American and his role in the founding of our Republic! She also will remind us of the tie that binds our national charter, The Declaration of Independence, to our U.S. Constitution. Be sure to bring your teens for an educational and entertaining evening!

What are the founding principles of America? Is government of the people, by the people, and for the people simply a failed experiment? Are we adults in charge of our fate, or are we children to be coddled by a nanny state? What are the roots of democratic capitalism? Is American exceptionalism a myth? How has free enterprise accommodated society’s changing needs? Are there better alternatives, as some contend? Most importantly, how can we defend our Republic for future generations? What post-election policies might we expect out of Washington? What will be the impact of the election on the national economy and the markets? These are just a few of the questions that will be addressed by speaker Keith DeGreen.
