Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse at Memorial Day Celebration

The Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse supported the Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery’s Memorial Day Celebration on May 29. The event, honoring those veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country’s freedoms, was well attended by members and veterans of our community, along with several members of the Chandler City Council.

The ceremony began with the Parade of Colors by the American Legion Riders Posts 35 and 91, followed by the national anthem and speakers from the American Legion honoring the fallen. The event concluded with the laying of the wreaths, a 21-gun salute, “Taps,” and a vintage plane flyover.

It has been the tradition of the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse to support this Memorial Day service. This year was no exception. We are proud to be a part of the community effort in honoring those who served and died for our country.
