On Oct. 29 the Sun Lakes Posse, along with the Sun Lakes Lions Club and our local business partners: Keller Williams, Amy Nelson; VIP Mortgage, Lisa Estes; Edward Jones, Vicki Paez; Magnus Title, Romy Watts; and American Family Insurance, Craig Lloyd, held another very successful semi-annual Document Shred and Drug Take Back event in Sun Lakes.

We were able to shred over 10,000 pounds of sensitive documents and fill four large containers of dangerous prescription drugs and send them to the DEA facility for proper disposal to protect our citizens of this community.

Look for the next semi-annual Document Shred and Drug Take Back event in late April 2023 here in Sun Lakes.

On Election Day, Nov. 8, your Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse members staffed and operated all three of our marked patrol units continuously throughout the day. Our law enforcement vetted and trained members provided a large presence throughout this community from before sunrise until late into the night, well after the polls closed, to ensure the integrity and safety of our right to vote at both of our Sun Lakes locations and throughout our communities.

Look for another opportunity to participate in our Red Cross Blood Drive on Dec. 2, here in Sun Lakes at our Posse facility located at 9531 Riggs Road. This year our blood drives will have netted almost 200 units of lifesaving blood.

Please save the date for the annual First Responders Open House on Jan. 28, 2023, at the Sun Lakes Posse Facility, starting at 10 a.m. Join MCSO, AZ Fire and Medical, and your Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse. Come meet all your local first responders and see the special lifesaving equipment we use in our communities.

This is a great family- and community-oriented event, so plan to bring your children and grandchildren and enjoy a hot dog and beverage with your first responders.
