Commander Craig Lloyd, SLSP

Please join me in welcoming another new member to the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse.

Michael S. Johnstone, Ph.D., has been on board volunteering in the Sun Lakes Posse for the last year, and assisting us with various events in the Sun Lakes community while undergoing a very thorough law enforcement vetting and training to wear the patch and badge of the MCSO Posse.

Michael earned his Ph.D. in human services with a specialization in criminal justice. Michael’s Masters is in business and organizational security management, and his BA is in political science.

Michael was born and raised in Albuquerque, N.M., and moved to the Valley in 2015. He has 25 years of experience as a paralegal, working in family law, personal injury, and probate, to name a few. This has given him many opportunities to work with and collaborate with different law enforcement agencies. Michael also has over 16 years of teaching experience, having taught at the college level in the areas of criminal justice, government, and general education. In addition to his full-time work in a law firm in Phoenix, Michael continues teaching. He has recently taught classes at Park University and at ASU’s Tempe Campus.

Michael loves sports, and despite being in the hometown of the Arizona Cardinals, is a dedicated and die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He is excited to have the opportunity to serve and provide assistance to the residents of Sun Lakes, and the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse is looking forward to his contributions now and in the future, as he continues his law enforcement training to better serve our community.

As the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse continues to serve our community’s needs, we are always looking for high-quality individuals like Michael to join our ranks. Visit our website at www.sunlakesPosse.org or stop by to pick up an application.
