What a wonderful ceremony was presented for Memorial Day! Everyone in the Sun Lakes community has taken part in the building of the new Veterans Memorial whether you have donated, spent time working on projects to be sold at the Book and Bake sale in March, the Bazaar in November, doing pick-ups/deliveries of items so willingly donated, or were involved in the golf tournaments sponsored by our Women’s Association. No matter what it’s been, you may look with pride upon the Veteran’s Memorial! Many families and veterans will be able to enjoy this tribute, which is alongside Sun Lakes Clubhouse, for years to come.
Already the ladies are putting their heads together to see what fantastic projects they can come up with to sell at the upcoming Bazaar in November. This year we will be unpacking and setting up on November 5, which means that as soon as the furniture is set up and displayed outside, it’s for sale. The inside will not open until Thursday at noon and go until 5:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday the hours are from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with Sunday being open from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at which time everything will be closed. Of course, Christmas items will be displayed outside the same as the furniture.
Any lady living in the Sun Lakes community is more than welcome to join us on Mondays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. There are a lot of different things to choose from – you won’t get bored! Anyone wishing to donate household items in clean and good condition may call 480-895-9270 ext.220 and schedule a pick up. We also deliver if you wish to buy anything. Never forget that every penny we earn goes right back into Sun Lakes, Cottonwood/Palo Verde, IronOaks/Ironwood with donations going to the Fire Department, Neighbors Who Care, Sheriff’s Posse and many others.
Don’t forget to look at the display case in the great Sun Lakes Clubhouse Library. The items are for sale and money can be given to the librarian or to the office workers. What an easy way to shop and find some special things at good prices. All of the items are for sale by the Women’s Association.
Have a good summer!
