Fall ushers in many activities that we all know and love. For the Chordaires Show Chorus, it’s the beginning of a new season and a celebration of 47 years of entertaining audiences. There’s the renewing of friendships and connecting with old and new friends who have been away for the summer. This year brings changes that we are all excited to learn about and share with new members and audiences.
Our 2026–27 season is officially under way! We meet weekly on Thursdays from 1 to 4:30 p.m. in the Mirror Room at the Sun Lakes Country Club. Chordaires is a women’s a cappella ensemble based in Sun Lakes, and we’re open to adult women of all ages who love to sing.
This season, we are thrilled to sing under the direction of our new director, Cary Burns. Cary comes to us with 37 years of experience in barbershop music. As a sought-after coach, arranger, and Musicality judge, Cary is known for his dynamic leadership and engaging teaching style. He brings a fresh, exciting energy to our vocal program by introducing a technique called Bel Canto, a classic style of singing from early Italian opera days. The Bel Canto method focuses on healthy vocal production, effortless resonance, and maintaining vocal flexibility and longevity for a lifetime of singing.
If you’d like to learn more, come see us in person! Look for our table at the Sun Lakes Open House events throughout October—we’ll be at Cottonwood Palo Verde on Oct. 3, Oakwood Ballroom on Oct. 10, and Sun Lakes Country Club on Oct. 17. You can also reach out via email at info@chordaires.org or visit chordaires.org to arrange a rehearsal visit and learn how you can lift your voice with us this fall!
