The Crystal Card Project continues to grow

The Crystal Card Project continues to grow as many people hear about our recycling of cards for charity. If you are not familiar with our Crystal Card greeting cards, you can check them out and purchase them during February at the following locations:

* February 6 (Wednesday) 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Sun Lakes Ladies Coffee, in the Cottonwood Ballroom.

* February 11 (Monday) 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Renaissance Lobby, located at 9508 E. Riggs Road.

The Crystal Card Project would like to publicly thank the Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation for their grant of $1,500 to the project. We will use this donation to purchase supplies which will, in turn, allow us to make approximately 7,500 cards. The cards sell for $1 each with every cent of the proceeds from sales going to charity. In other words, the Foundation’s $1,500 donation will result in $7,500 for charity! The proceeds from our card sales go to My Sister’s Place, a Chandler shelter for victims of domestic violence.

As the Crystal Card Project continues to grow, we are in need of your used card donations. Please drop off cards (fronts and backs – we need the message) at any of the Sun Lakes clubhouses. Bins are marked for The Crystal Card Project and can be found at SLCC Library by the fireplace, in the Cottonwood Library left of the fireplace, in the Palo Verde Ladies lounge, in Oakwood between the display racks in the information hallway and in the Ironwood lobby near the front door.

We need volunteers to help make cards as well as help sell at selected locations. Email us at [email protected] or call Charlene Petragallo at 480-883-0782.

Follow us on Facebook or check our website, www.thecrystalcardproject.org, for information on our activities. Many people always ask, “Where do you sell your cards?” Our website will give you that information!
