The Greater Sun Lakes Community Foundation is open for business. This is a time unparalleled in the lives of most everyone in the greater Sun Lakes area. Our lives have changed, and the lifestyle we all enjoyed has gone silent. Entertainment has stopped, and many clubs and organizations have had to halt all activities. The “best of times” has become the “worst of times.”
The Greater Sun Lakes Community Foundation has ceased most all of our public fundraising activities, but we are still open for business. The Foundation will continue to entertain grant requests from clubs and organizations. This might be the time for your club or organization to submit a grant request. Staying at home time is now the norm. However, it might just be the time to submit a grant you’ve been wanting to put together for the betterment of your club or organization.
Even though the Foundation is presently out of the public fundraising business, we are still seeking donations, so we can continue our mission of supporting clubs and organizations that serve the senior population in the Greater Sun Lakes Area. Donations are our only current source of revenue. Please consider a legacy donation or a memorial gift on behalf of a loved one or friend. One hundred percent of your donation goes to help our efforts to support the activities of the senior population in the Greater Sun Lakes Area. Since we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, your donation may well be tax deductible.
The Greater Sun Lakes Community Foundation website shows the many organizations we have supported in the past. The Foundation website gives you all the details and forms needed to submit a grant request. Please go to www.slcommunityfoundation.org and check us out. The website also shows you how you can support the Foundation by signing up for Fry’s or Amazon’s donation programs. If you designate the Foundation as your recipient, Fry’s and/or Amazon will send a portion of your purchase money to the Foundation. By signing up for either or both Fry’s and Amazon’s donation programs, you are serving your community while you shop—a great deal for you, a great deal for the Foundation, and a great deal for your community!
We are looking forward to a healthier future for us all. But in this new home time we have, please think about a grant request for your club or organization, and consider a donation to the Foundation!
