On Nov. 10-12 in Casa Grande, the Military Pickleball Association held their Second Annual Battle of the Branches pickleball tournament, a salute to service. The tournament is partnered with a great charity that helps our veterans and first responders.

Our own SLPCC was well represented with quality play and great sportsmanship. The SLPCC teams and results were as follows: Bud Johnson and Steve Jensen, 3.5 60+, fourth place; Bill Rethke and Marv Brownell, 3.5 70+, third place; Jeff Dunn and Ron Berge, 4.0-4.5 60+, third place; and, finally, Lois Marik and Jim Carlson, 3.5 50+, brought home the gold first place. This tournament had top-notch competition, and our players did very well. Congrats to all!
