The month of April was the last month of league play for the Sun Lakes Lady Niners, and many of our snowbirds have already gone home. On April 27 we had our annual Pizza Party at Mulligans with pizza, cupcakes, and a reduced price on drinks. Golf balls were given out for chip-ins and bridie pins for birdies. Those who stay in Arizona for the summer get together a couple of times per month to work on their game and to stay connected.

April 10 was the date for our annual garage sale, and one of our members, Laurel Cathey, who was moving, donated many things from her house for the sale. Special thanks go to Celeste Dorsey for organizing this group, and thanks to everyone who came out to help on a very hot day. We made a little over $1,000 to go in the Sun Lakes Lady Niners Treasury.

On April 6, the game of the day was low putts, with Susan Geis winning in Flight 1, Dottie Wodraska in Flight 2, and Arlene Fletcher in Flight 3. The game on April 13 was Non-Water Holes, with Mary Martz in Flight 1, Dottie Wodraska in Flight 2, and Mary Bohren in Flight 3. On April 20 the game of the day was Low Net, with Rose Gallagher winning in Flight 1, Dottie Wodraska in Flight 2, and Beverly Jur in Flight 3. The game on April 27 was Water Holes Low Net, with Susan Geis winning in Flight 1, Verla Matuschka in Flight 2, and Jackie Aagaard in Flight 3. We look forward to many more challenging games next year.

Well, that’s it for this season. A good time was had by all, even if some of us were not winners. There’s always next year.
