The traveling Ironwood Lady Niners

Ann Gavin and Linda Liberti at the Shalimar Invitational

On March 8, 2019, Ann Gavin and Linda Liberti traveled to Tempe to represent the Lady Niners in the Shalimar Invitational. Ladies from all over the Valley came to play in the 9-hole tournament. The Hawaiian theme added to the fun. Ann’s team won second place which entitled them to a $50 gift certificate which could be spent in the Shalimar Pro Shop.

Golden Gifted Golfer: Margaret Noser was a little embarrassed to accept an award for her recent chip-in, since the shot was a bit unorthodox. Margaret’s drive went in the sand trap. Using her trusty sand wedge, she then hit the ball out of the sand and into the water. That didn’t seem to bother Margaret, as she dropped her ball and chipped it in for a 4 on a par 3. This is why we keep playing the game!

New Member: The Ironwood Lady Niners welcome Chloe Hanken to our group.

Summer Golf: Summer in the desert has been good to 24 Lady Niners who are playing this summer. Hopefully, the 100-degree-plus weather won’t discourage these women from continuing their early Wednesday morning tee times. There will be a summer luncheon on July 17 for the Lady Niners, whether they are golfing this summer or not.
