For most Lady Niners on Oct. 30, only golf was on their minds. For Margaret Johns, there was golf and Halloween. Unfortunately, she did not get any tricks or treats, but she did golf eerily well. She not only had a birdie on hole No. 10, but chipped her shot right into the cup on hole No. 13. Thanks, Margaret, for providing the IWLN with some levity on an otherwise unusually cold Arizona Halloween day.
Welcome to our newest members of the IWLN: Toni Flanagan, Rebecca Shurts, Carol Wilcox, and Judy Heading. Don’t worry if you haven’t signed up to play with the Lady Niners. There is still time. Contact Janis Gustafson at [email protected].
A date to remember: On Wednesday, Dec. 11, the IWLN will celebrate the holidays with a delicious brunch starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Ironwood Golf Club. Chairperson Bettie Farr has been working diligently to ensure a successful holiday celebration.
Summer Hottie: Tradition says that whoever braves the hot, hot, hot summer weather by golfing almost every Wednesday deserves an award! For at least three years in a row, Linda Liberti has been our summer hottie. Once again, the heat didn’t seem to bother her as she golfed 15 times this summer at Ironwood. Shirley Moore was right behind her braving the Arizona sun.
Gifted Golden Golfers: On Oct. 23, Denise Weibel had a chip in and a birdie on hole No. 4. On Nov. 6, Sandy Krediet had 2 chip ins: one on the 1st hole and another on the 4th hole. Good golfing, ladies!
