Unity Church of Sun Lakes is a New Thought spiritual community dedicated to living the Truths taught by Jesus Christ as well as other spiritual masters. We see the good (the God) in our fellow humans and celebrate our Oneness with all people in the world. We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. at Sun Lakes Country Club, in the Arts and Crafts Room. Rev. Jeanne MacLaughlin is our minister. On the first Sunday of the month, we will be studying Lessons in Truth, by H. Emile Cady, immediately following the church service. All are welcome to join us.

One of the first words we were taught to say as children was, “thank you”! So, if we are a Sun Laker, we have been saying thank you for 55 years or better if we did what we were taught. At Unity, in past years, we practiced gratitude by keeping a paper and pen beside our bed, so that when we awakened each morning, we could write down what we were grateful for and keep the messages in a jar or vase to be read at the beginning of the next year. This is a self-care, spiritual tool all of us can use, and can be a teachable moment. A warm, comfortable bed and roof over my head showed up more than once in my messages. So, among other things, I like comfort, but is that it? In my reading of New Thought magazine, I came across the following by Rev. George Harris: “How do we see our days? You think that this is just another day in your life. It is not JUST another day. It is the one day that is given to you. It is a GIFT. It is the only gift that you have right now, and the only appropriate response is gratefulness. If you do nothing else today but cultivate that response for the unique gift that this day is; if you learn to respond as if it were the first day of your life and the very last day, then you will have spent this day very well.”

Take a deep breath in and focus on the moment. I have nothing left to say.
