The Weeders’ Garden Club had a very successful meeting to start our season on September 10, 2015. Several visitors came, had a good time and were very happy to attend their first club meeting. We hope they will become new members! Our succulent presentation was done by member Pattie Langton and it was very informative.

The field trip on October 16 is to the Arts and Flower Show at the Phoenix Art Museum and will be followed by lunch at the Palette Restaurant located at the museum. The event is sponsored by the Phoenix Art Museum League and the eleventh annual exhibition features over 50 award winning Arizona floral designers who interpret the museum’s artwork in breathtaking fresh floral arrangements throughout the museum galleries. The picture is an example of 1st Place Best in Interpretation for 2014.

The Weeders’ Garden Club meets the second Thursday of each month, September through May, in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club in Sun Lakes. Treats and coffee are served beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the business meeting is from 10:00 a.m. to noon. There is an interesting speaker and a horticulture presentation each meeting as well as a club money making raffle too!

Membership is open to everyone. Although field trips are reserved for members, anyone interested in attending a meeting is welcome. For more information about the club and to see pictures of the activities, please visit the website at http:www.weedersgc.org/home or call the Membership Chairperson Pat Murrish at 480-802-0857 or President Debbie Dunham at 480-802-6813.

Everyone has returned to our monthly meetings with shared enthusiasm.
