The new activity year has just begun for the African American Association of Sun Lakes. AAASL was founded in August of 2000 by Al and Anne Livingston, Jim and Orpha Smith, Penn and Sherline Sparks, Al and Annette Lariez and Eleanor Smith. AAASL was formed to bring together, in a spirit of fellowship, individuals who share similar interests.
The first event of the activity year is our “Welcome Back” event. The theme for this event is “Blue Lights In The Basement Old-School House Party”. It will be held at the Poolside Cafe in Oakwood on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. There will be an old-school D.J. for your listening and dancing pleasure.
The second event of the activity year is our annual golf outing. It will be a four-person scramble format and will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Springfield Golf Resort in Chandler, AZ.
Our Christmas Gala this year will be held on December 8, 2018 in the Oakwood Ballroom. Wear your semi-formal attire and dance the night away to the sounds of Kenny G & The Project Band. There will be lots of gifts and give-a-ways, all presented in the spirit of the holidays.
