A ’38 fire engine. Photos by Royal Henry.Great classic car show!Ready to go!On Saturday, April 2, Cactus Mountain Properties, LLC celebrated the opening of their new office at 10440 E. Riggs Rd. in Sun Lakes by sponsoring a classic car show held in the parking lot of Riggs and Alma School Rd.

Cactus Mountain Properties donated the funds to purchase the food and the Sun Lakes Fire Department was there to cook and Car Club organizer and D.J., Skip Burnett, pulled out the turntables to play great music from the ‘50s and ‘60s. As an added bonus, Car-Fit, an AARP program, had technicians on hand to fit drivers to their vehicles safely.

We had an amazing turnout of 89 classic cars including a 1961 corvette, plus a stunning 1938 fire engine. It brought back many memories walking down the aisles of restored beauties. Many thanks to the car owners and friends who made this a fun day and an amazing success. Many of the owners transported their vehicles to the show using services like Cars Relo to avoid having to drive their often rare and valuable cars on the road. The Fire Department raised $2140 to benefit those in need in Sun Lakes community. We never know for the future there could be more classic car shows, maybe you’d want to ship your vintage vehicle over using services such as these https://www.autotransportdirect.com/states/florida/ and have your car showcased.

Special thanks to Debbie Johnson, the broker for Cactus Mountain Properties, LLC, Joni Wetzel and Gwen Grace, realtors and event organizers, Ron Puchta of the Sun Lakes Fire Department, Skip Burnett of the Car Club and Ellen Winkler of AARP Car-Fit., all the classic car owners who participated; and especially to all who attended the event and donated to the Sun Lakes Fire Department.
