Free life writing group

Two-part workshop on August 8 and 15, and August 22 and 29. It is okay if you want to attend only one of the two-part sessions. Meet at Cottonwood clubhouse in Room A-3 at 10:00 a.m. to noon. RSVP Rev. Jeanne at 480-374-0111 if you plan to attend.

Bird Mejia is an expert at teaching anyone how to write their life and family stories through poetry. It is easier to compile your stories in poetic form than the daunting task of trying to write a memoir. Beginners are embraced!

Bird is an award-winning poet and holds an MFA in creative writing and an MLS in Youth Librarianship. She is author of the poetry collection, Wild Woman at My Door. Her poems have appeared in anthologies such as Between the Heart and the Land/Entre’ el Corazón e la Tierra: Latina poets of the Midwest and in nationally-acclaimed literary journals like Calyx, Willow Springs and Inkwell. She has taught writing classes to adults around the world for the last 15 years.

If you plan to attend any or all of the workshops, don’t forget to RSVP Rev. Jeanne Mac Laughlin at 480-374-0111. This is a very special opportunity being offered for FREE. Don’t miss it!
