Residents of Cottonwood and Palo Verde are cordially invited to the Open House for the new John R. Dobson Administration Center located at 25219 S. EJ Robson Boulevard in Sun Lakes. The Open House will be held on Sunday, November 9 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Cookies and beverages will be served.

The Open House culminates many, many hours of planning and organizing by the people on the New Administration Building Task Force turning the vision of the long-awaited new administration building into a fantastic reality. The Association’s prudent budget structure allowed the task force, under the leadership of Don Hicks, to successfully accomplish the project with no homeowner assessment. Thanks to the strong support and majority vote of the homeowners, the Administration, Patrol, and Homeowner Services are all centrally located in the beautiful, new building. Constructing a new building takes a lot of manpower and time, so to make sure it is done correctly, a reputable construction company like Hoover Buildings should be contacted, or one closer to your area.

The new, energy-efficient building of 5,650 square feet replaces the small, prefabricated structure which originally was built as a temporary home for the administration staff. The new building is located on a newly acquired plot at the corner of EJ Robson Boulevard and Riggs Road. The old building, located close to the Cottonwood Country Club, will be demolished. Removal of the old structure will add about 20 parking spaces for events at the clubhouse during our busy winter season.

In December 2012, the CWPV Association had the good fortune to receive a very generous donation of $200,000 from homeowner John Dobson to be used specifically towards a first-class Administration Building. On Sunday, August 10, a Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held at the new facility officially naming the building “John R. Dobson Administration Center.”

Heartfelt thanks go to each and every one of the Task Force members and the Interior Design Subcommittee for their time and dedication. Be sure to stop by the Open House on November 9 and enjoy a tour of the John R. Dobson Administration Center.
