As the temperatures cool and we again meet up with our winter residents and friends coming back from destinations north, we find it a great opportunity to get together and celebrate the holiday season. Our Holiday Luncheon was preceded by a fun golf game organized by Deb Burns who got everyone “thinking outside the box.” Our luncheon followed at noon where we started off with a quick general meeting, with items on the agenda being the introduction of the treasurer, Rachel Enloe, and her reading her Treasurer’s Report, as well as Sally Dixon giving a report on registration and renewals.
President Judy Thompson gave a big shoutout and thank you to Kevin and all the staff at the Ironwood Golf Course who are so appreciated for what they do.
Judy introduced all the members of all the committees and executive members and gave a big thank you for a job well done. New executives and officers were appointed and welcomed to their positions. Following the meeting, the draws were made for the door prizes.
Shotgun start was back to 9 a.m., with check-in by 8:45 a.m., with green fees going up Dec. 1 for nine holes to $50 for Sun Lakes residents and hosted guests and $55 for non-residents of Sun Lakes. For those needing information on punch card purchases, it is located in the Ironwood Pro Shop.
IWLN has been invited to two invitational tournaments this coming year in February and March, with more information to follow. Anyone belonging to IWLN is invited to participate. They are lots of fun and a great way to meet new golfers with a common goal.
Also, remember that we invite all golfers of all levels of play to come and join our Ladies league. We are a non-stress group of ladies who just like to have fun and play a little golf, too. Come and give us a try.
