The East Valley Photo Club (EVPC) held its first competition of the new season on Oct. 16. This year’s competition categories have been increased from three to four, and each competing photographer may enter a total of four photos across the four categories in both print and digital divisions.

EVPC activities for November included our general membership meeting for which the presenter was Club Secretary Donna McGregor. Donna’s topic was the exploration and use of the club’s website, which provides a wealth of information about EVPC’s activities, membership, and photo galleries and is the portal for entering club competitions by our members. EVPC individual members also participated in the Arizona Camera Club Council’s (ACCC) Fall Roundup held in Sun City West, which included presentations on the use of Lightroom and Photoshop for post-processing of photos by Tom Klare, as well as results of the judging of print and digital entries from all of the member clubs in Arizona in ACCC’s fall competition.

The month of December will include a presentation by Robert Gallucci on techniques for the taking of night sky photos, such as the Milky Way, as well as our monthly competition whose categories will be open, mono, nature, and perspective.

EVPC welcomes new members and visitors interested in photography to all of its meetings. We have members from many areas of the East Valley having all ability levels from beginners to advanced and using everything from smartphone cameras to the latest mirrorless versions. Our Photography Fundamentals classes for members and non-members alike will begin in January, 2026.
