Be “on guard” with Essential Oils

JoAnne Gaudioso

Autumn is here, and with it comes beautiful changes in nature and a reminder that we are fast approaching the season that challenges many of us to stay healthy and fight off colds, coughs, sore throats and flu.

Yes, some of you have had a flu shot, but there is so much more you can do naturally with essential oils to protect yourself and boost your immune support.

Let’s take frequent handwashing as an example. We all know that frequent handwashing is one of the recommended ways of preventing bacterial infection. But did you know that the typical antibacterial handwash you buy over the counter is not very effective. In fact, the FDA has banned many of these antibacterial soaps, because they contain potentially harmful chemicals. The FDA has stated they are no more effective at killing germs and preventing illness than plain soap and water. To get the most out of your hygiene routine, add essential oils to your hand soap. While nasty chemicals like triclosan and triclocarban found in antibacterial handwashes can actually cause harm to you and your environment, essential oils smell great and provide natural disinfecting benefits.

There are many different essential oils and essential oil products that can boost your immune system during this season. These essential oils can be used aromatically by diffusing them or simply inhaling them; topically, by applying them or essential oil blends to your skin or internally, taken with water or in a capsule.

My workshops this month will be focused on Boosting Your Immune Support. There are so many essential oils, custom blends and other essential oil products I would like to share with you to help you get through the winter season in a natural way. So, please come join me in one of my scheduled workshops where we will make an immune support blend for you to take home and learn about the way essential oils can boost your immune support. Classes are scheduled for Saturday, November 3, at 11:00 a.m.; Saturday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. and Saturday, November 17, at 11:00 a.m. If these are not convenient, please contact me and we can schedule a one-on-one class at a time convenient for you.
