Crystal Cards will be on sale in November at three Sun Lakes locations.
* Wednesday, Nov. 2, Cottonwood’s San Tan Ballroom at the Cottonwood Women’s Coffee, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
* Wednesday, Nov. 9, Bradford Room in the Oakwood clubhouse, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
* Thursday, Nov. 17, Sun Lakes Country Club lobby, 3 to 5 p.m.
We will have a wonderful assortment of cards for Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthday, anniversary, get well, sympathy, and cards for all occasions. Stop by to find just the right cards for family and friends.
Each year, The Crystal Card Project collects Christmas gifts and gift cards for the families living at My Sister’s Place, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. This is a difficult time of year for these families, especially the children. We will be contacting our volunteers later this month with gift ideas and details about how to participate. Anyone else wishing to contribute can email us at [email protected] for more information.
We are continuing our home delivery for those who find it easier to choose cards at home. Here’s how it works:
You send an email to [email protected] that includes:
* Your name,
* Your Sun Lakes home address,
* Your phone number, and
* The type of cards you want.
1. A volunteer will arrange to deliver an assortment for you. Look through the cards at your convenience and choose the ones you want.
2. Place payment for the cards you have chosen in the box, along with the cards to be returned. (Cards are $1 each.) Call the volunteer to pick up the remaining cards. The phone number to call will be in the box with the cards when they arrive.
The money raised by card sales is donated to My Sister’s Place, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. You can learn more about the project and My Sister’s Place at www.thecrystalcardproject.org. Thanks to the continued support from Sun Lakes residents, The Crystal Card Project has now donated over $71,000 to My Sister’s Place.
There will be no workshops in November or December due to the holidays. The next workshop will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m. in the Ceramics Room at Cottonwood.
