COVID-19 has not stopped us from new adventures at Cheers. Zoom—we are hoping to have this new program on our computers and our iPhones by the time summer is over. Once we get organized, we will have the ability to have weekly visits and meetings with each other from our homes.
Hopefully, COVID-19 will be under control by the time you are reading this issue of the Splash. We hope that we are back at Poolside Café for our weekly Social on Thursdays. We miss the friendship and fun we have at this happy hour. Our monthly wine tasting, dining-out, and book club are looking forward to meeting again.
In order to become part of our new adventure, you can help launch Zoom. If you already use it, great. We hope to use this for some of our club communication.
Hopefully, we have said goodbye to COVID-19 by now. If not, then please shelter-in place and wear your mask. We have got to get rid of it and return to normal life.
Sally Wegryn has just heard from Lisa St. Peter, the social work assistant at Hamilton High School, telling her their needs are still critical for the students and their families. She sent us a list of items needed. Sally is always out stocking up on some of the necessities for these families, but we need your help as well. Since Sally spends so much, perhaps you would prefer to send her a check to help her buy more. Otherwise, you may drop off what you purchase at her house in Oakwood at 9322 E. Crystal Drive. Her phone number is 203-470-0733.
If you are a single living in Sun Lakes, SunBird, Solera, or Springfield, you are welcome to join us when life begins to be more normal. We would love to have you as a member. If you want more info, call Ginny Marr at 480-390-5145 or Richard Lewin at 480-525-3630 or check out our website at cheerssingles.org.
