Greater Sun Lakes Foundation Board members presenting the $3,000 grant check to Crystal Cards Project members.

When The Greater Sun Lakes Community Foundation was established, its mission was and has remained to enhance the quality of life for seniors in areas of health, education and culture. As a 501(c)(3) organization, monies are provided by generous individuals, donations to honor individuals who are celebrating milestones, as memorials to those who have passed away and fund raising events. All proceeds from the elegant Holiday Gala, the fun, boot scootin’ Hoedown and selling raffle tickets at the Cottonwood TAD concerts are the main sources of income. The most recent addition is the Walkathon, an event to raise funds for the Sun Lakes Fire Department for their food program. If you are interested in being a Friend of the Foundation or a member of the board to assist in its mission, please contact chrisschneck92@gmail.com.
Grant requests from the organizations that keep our seniors engaged in many different activities are considered on an individual basis. It is always exciting for our board members, Richard Hawk, Chris Schneck, Frank Gould, Brian Haynie, Cheryl Ravenscroft, Kathy Sheri, Kate-King Turner and Patricia Wolfe to present them to their representatives.
The Foundation recently presented grants to two well known organizations in our area. A
$5,000 check was presented to Neighbors Who Care and a $3,000 check to the Crystal Cards Project. Both organizations play a significant role in our community.
