The Ironwood Lady Niners (IWLN) had their spring awards banquet on April 15. Awards were given for Birdies and Chip-Ins throughout the year, Most Improved Golfer, and Medallion Low Gross and Low Net winners. Rosanna Nania was the Low Gross Medallion winner and Shirley Moore was Low Net. These two ladies will represent IWLN next January in the State Medallion Tournament. The winner of the “Green Jacket” for Most Improved Golfer was Jolyn Elliott. Congratulations to all the award winners.
We had some of our IWLN members play in the two day PICO Tournament on April 14 and 21. Jolyn Elliott played on a team that finished seventh, Ann Gavin played on a team that finished tenth and Gerry Weaver was on the team that finished second. Congratulations to all.
IWLN golf is slowing down for the season. On May 27, IWLN starts “summer golf” by signing up for tee times in the computer room at Ironwood Golf Club. We will have six tee times every Wednesday morning starting at 7 a.m. all summer. If interested, be sure to sign up each week for summer golf and breakfast after.
There is one more outside invitational for IWLN to participate in this year. The Pinewood Invitational will be held on July 15 in Munds Park, Ariz. We have a group from IWLN that will participate in this outing. Best of luck at the invitational.
