Chapter Commander Leon “Skip” Johnson

The local Korean War Veterans chapter continues to be on track, meeting regularly on a monthly basis, with their scheduled meetings being held in the meeting room at the IHOP restaurant in the Target Shopping Center off Arizona Avenue. During the summer months, normal scheduled meetings are placed in limbo until the fall season; however, the weekly lunches will still be available throughout the summer unless changes are made to this scheduling. They are open to all current club members and to those who may have an interest in joining the group. Any changes relating to this will be updated and distributed to the current club membership.

Our doors are never closed, and one of the main goals of this club has always been to be able to provide support and assistance to any of our veterans who are in need of help and support, whether it’s short or long term. Over the years, the club has accumulated and maintained a large selection of medical supplies that can provide short-term relief in times of need or a mixed variety of equipment that can add to the quality of life for those who may have severe mobility problems. Meetings for the Korean War Veterans are typically held monthly on the fourth Wednesday of the month from September up through the month of May. Meetings lately have been held in the back room of the IHOP restaurant, as indicated above. Take a moment out of your busy lives to thank all of those serving our country who are away from their families and loved ones, and also show appreciation for all those who have been working so hard keeping our shelves stocked and the streets safe and the many in the medical field who are putting in many hours in treating those in need.
