The Oakwood 9-Hole Couples group celebrated our end of the year social with the theme of “Beach Blanket Bingo,” with 88 golfers playing a scramble on the Lakes course on April 12, plus another eight social members attending the dinner. Jen Pender headed up the planning with a very enthusiastic group of volunteers (Yvonne DeMoss, Susan Schaffer, Lori Fleischer, DeChantel Riley, Corrine Gresen, Erika Tiepel, Laurel Stoimenoff, Tini Groves, Fran Moncrieff, Robin Moody, and Molly Bergesen).
After golf, all participants gathered at the Oakwood ballroom for some games, lots of prizes, and a great dinner of hot dogs, hamburgers, beans, macaroni and cheese, and dessert. The ballroom was decked out in beach balls, surf boards, and beach scenes.
Our sponsors were incredibly generous with their gifts, such as wine, dinner coupons, golf accessories, etc. Sponsors included BlueStar, Stone & Barrel, Zzeeks Pizza, Off 87 restaurant, Eddie Renio, Kevin Marugame, First Watch, Blue 32, Jeremiah’s Ice, Taqueria Factory, plus numerous other gifts from members of the Oakwood 9-Hole Couples group.
The general consensus was that this was a fabulous event. Kudos go to Jen Pender and her super volunteers for a very fun evening.
