The day of the OLGA Charity event turned out to be a cold, windy, rainy day. Only five brave souls completed 18 holes of golf. Kudos to Terry Jung, Dang Teater, Barbara Kassel, Robin Thomas, and Linda Anderson for their perseverance. Nevertheless, a nice lunch was enjoyed by those five and some of the fair-weather golfers. This year OLGA raised $4,461, which brings our four-year total contribution to St Mary’s Food Bank to approximately $20,000.

Since 1967, St. Mary’s Food Bank has served our local community, as well as nine other counties in Arizona. They provide food to food-insecure individuals, students, tribal communities, and families that have suffered a devastating loss such as fire. Saint Mary’s is also partnering with DoorDash to bring food to the elderly and shut-ins.

OLGA’s three-week Club Championship was held on Feb. 6, 13, and 20.

The theme for OLGA’s Member-Guest event, to be held on March 12, is Disco Divas. Ladies, it’s not too early to check out Amazon and eBay for disco outfits. I’m sure there will be some wild ones.
