The PVMGA men had a full schedule of events in February that included Ace of Ace’s qualifiers, Member/Member, Home & Home with the Oakwood men, and a Presidents’ lunch event to recognize our past presidents.
Feb. 1 started the month off with a flighted 2 Best Ball Ace of Ace’s qualifier. Blue Flight winners were the team of Christian Stokes, Ron Kiel, Scott Price, and Keith Edwards. The second place team was Gary Whiting, Don Peterson, John Kane, and Ken Nelson. White Flight winners were James Granzow, Joe Byrne, Jim Cain, and Gary Brown. There was a tie for second place with the team of Marty Neilson, Scott Salmonson, Ron Trost, and John Baker and the team of Al Zangri, Roger Wilson, John Kuchera, and Richard Koon.

Feb. 22 play was a select a drive 2 net Best Ball game followed by lunch in the Palo Verde restaurant to recognize our past presidents and thank them for their time and efforts to make PVMGA an active and thriving association for more than 30 years and counting. Those attending were John Mitchell (2008 and current 2025), Dick Howell (2009), Don Hicks (2010), John McKoy (2011), Jerry Lofquist (2013), Butch Reber (2016), Neil Curtis (2017), Jim Davis (2018), Dave Florence (2019), Bud Murray (2020-21), Al Baumgartner (2023), and Mike Rufert (2024). Thank you, gentlemen, for your time and effort to make PVMGA the great organization it is today.

3rd: Keith Edwards, Royal Carlson, Bill Greer, and Andy Zommers
On Feb. 27 and March 1 the Palo Verde and Oakwood clubs played a two-day event starting at Oakwood on Feb. 27 and finishing at Palo Verde on March 1. The four-man teams were made up of players from each club. There was a Circle Hole contest where seven players hit their tee shots inside the designated circle in addition to five other KPs where one player from each club was awarded for closest to the pin shots on those holes.
First place winners of the overall two-day event were the team of Dan Muth, Gordon Burns, Bruce Medhurst, and Cliff Joyes. The second place team was Mike Niccum, Chris Beaty, John Kane, and Dale Mitchell. Finishing in third place was the team of Dale Redger, Mark Palmatier, Mike Rapp, and Robert Butt.
