A member of the Garment Gusto girls explains their process of re-creating garments.
Peggy Abney
Our May meeting had us saying goodbye to our snowbirds and welcoming our newly elected board members who begin in September.
The program last month highlighted the talented Garment Gusto girls and the fun they have re-creating garments, sharing, and learning from each other. Check out some of the creative talents of our members.
The SNS retreat in Prescott, Ariz., was a success and enjoyed by all who attended. Another retreat will be scheduled for Halloween weekend this year. It is a fun time to catch up on a sewing project and share fellowship with like-minded sewists, so join us next time.
Kim Thompson, who is a certified Laura Heine instructor, presented the program “Demystifying Laura Heine.” We all enjoyed her presentation and beautiful trunk show she shared.
We will be taking the hot summer months off from meeting, but certainly have great summer classes planned for all our members to enjoy. Come check us out when we meet again on Sept. 9.
We would love to have you join us as a guest, give us a try, as we are a fun group and love to share many sewing, yarn and special group classes. We currently are a group of 149 members! Sew-N-Sews meets the second Wednesday of each month, September to May at 1 p.m., in the Navajo room, Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 E Sun Lakes Blvd. in Sun Lakes. Sew-N-Sews can be reached by emailing sewnsews1@gmail.com, or come to a meeting.
