Sisk Park Bocce players enjoy interclub tourney

Twenty-four Sisk Park Bocce Club members competed for cash prices and bragging rights at the club’s fourth annual interclub tournament February 26, according to interclub director Sue Donovan.

The players were randomly divided into six four-person teams and played matches against three other teams entered in the event.

First place went to the foursome of Tony Racano, Dan Gentile, Linda Parfitt and Gary Vacin. Each pocketed $20 cash in prize money.

The team of Maggie Klingberg, Joanne Bryant, Carl Schell and Mike Buscaglia earned $10 each for their second-place finish. Finishing third was the team of R Kiel, Fritz Derheim, Larry Vanderslice and Diane Roberts earning $5 each in prize money.

Other teams competing were the following foursomes:

Team 2: J Kiel, Jim Roberts, Larry Beck and Mike Mlynarczyk; Team 3: Arve Moser, Roy Parfitt, Jane Cambridge and Tony Casillas; and Team 5: Kathy Mlynarczyk, Marie Racano, Carol Stagger and Larry Klingberg.

Play in the club’s second tournament ended March 18, followed by the annual Pot Luck and Awards Picnic March 25. Also on the schedule was the annual Low Hanging Fruit tournament set on March 22.
