Merry Christmas (almost)! The Sun Lakes Drum/Sound Circle met at the Veteran’s Oasis Park for our November session. The Beaver Moon was not quite full yet, but it was bright and beautiful. The full moon was on Friday, November 3, and I did a ceremony for our prayers and intentions then. We had many new people attending and sharing our sounds with the world. My granddaughter Paige was at our session and loved it. Bring your grandchildren if they are visiting.
This was our last session at Veteran’s Oasis Park for this year. It is a peaceful oasis that isn’t far away and is enjoyed by many. They have walking trails and lakes, flowers and trees, picnic pavilions and a waterfall. I hope you get a chance to take advantage of this wonderful oasis.
For those of you who wonder what a drum/sound circle is, it is drumming, rattles, bells and whatever you have for musical sound. The intentions are for Spiritual Empowerment, a celebration of Mother Earth and the Full Moon and a way to relax and unwind. Our meetings are held the Wednesday of the full moon week each month. Come and join us for a short meditation and lots of sounds.
The next circle will be held at the Sun Lakes Country Club, Friendship Room, on December 6. Look for the signs to the room by the covered parking. We start at 6:30 p.m. to about 8:00 p.m., but you are welcome any time. Bring a drum, rattles, bells or any other kind of musical instrument. I have a few toys to play with but need more drums to beat!
