We are so happy to announce that the SLJC Sisterhood annual Card Party is back. We will gather at our new location, the Cottonwood Country Club ballroom in Sun Lakes, to play Mah Jongg, bridge, canasta, Scrabble, Rummikub, or any table game of your choice on Monday, April 11, at 10 a.m. There will be beautiful gift baskets, a cash raffle, restaurant gift cards, tasty bake sale items on site or as pre-sale orders, and a delicious buffet lunch for a $40 entry fee. Doors open at 9 a.m., and activities continue throughout the day. Proceeds go to local charities. The reservation deadline is March 28. For reservations or questions, call Geri at 480-305-0123. The Card Party is open to the public. The more the merrier!
The next meeting of Sisterhood will be on Thursday, March 17, at 1 p.m. It will be a Zoom presentation by Barbara Maloney, docent from the Phoenix Art Museum. The topic is “One’s Man’s Trash Is Another Man’s Treasure.” We will see art that has been created from used, recycled, or reclaimed materials. Perhaps we will be inspired to create art from ordinary objects found around the house. A Zoom link will be emailed to all Sisterhood members before the March 17 meeting.
