Sync your brain and body with Tai Chi

Want a workout for your brain? Then add the movements of Tai Chi – an ideal way to exercise with purposeful, mindful movement. Often, we think of “mindful” as slow. The slower you go with Tai Chi, the more you have to work on keeping your thoughts on what you are doing to keep the “flow state” of Tai Chi.

There are numerous ways that Tai Chi can improve your brain health. As you learn new movements, you are building new neuro-muscular connections. Crossing the midline with several of the movements exercises our ability to keep the order of the movements correct in your head to keep the flow going. It can be fairly easy to focus on one Tai Chi principle at a time, but then when adding them together, the dynamic changes.

Whether you attend one of my easy and gentle Tai Chi classes or use my DVDs, practice some individual movements by focusing on the underlying principles to improve your brain, reduce the risk of falling, lower your stress and improve your mood. At just $5. per class, give it a try!
